South Carolina member Perry Loftis elected Governor of Palmetto Boys State

Perry Loftis, a rising senior at Crescent High School and president of the FFA chapter, was elected Governor of Palmetto Boys State in Columbia recently.

Sponsored by the American Legion, Palmetto Boys State is a unique and exciting one week program designed to teach young men about government and the politics involved.

Perry was winner of the State FFA Specialty Crops Production Proficiency Award in 2009. He was recently recognized as the Crescent FFA Star member and elected chapter president for school year 2010-11.

The son of Shea and Julie Loftis of Starr, SC, Perry’s FFA advisors are Tim Keown and Roger Estridge, Agricultural Education instructors at Crescent High School.
